Everyone has different interests in life, and going on holiday is no different. Some people wouldn’t dream of sitting on a beach for a week, yet for others – it’s everything they’ve ever dreamed of. Whatever the reason for your travels, these destinations are hand picked to spark your unique interests. So whether you’d like a spot with no phone service, or a place where there are more neon light dance floors than anywhere else on earth, we’ve got you covered.
Beach Bum – Seychelles
It’s not the easiest place to get to, but it’s worth it. Crystal blue waters, soft, powdery sand and palm trees a plenty – it’s heaven. And fortunately, your neighbor likely hasn’t added this spot to their list yet. If relaxing on a beach is what’s needed for your next holiday, this is a truly wonderful option, with the added bonus of lovely culture around you.
Second Option: Sri Lanka
Foodie – Lima
It’s practically impossible to pick just one place, but with three restaurants in the top 50 list – and two in the top 10, Lima is at the forefront of the modern food scene. Its unique location lends tons of fresh produce and the amazing food fusions combining Latin flavors with fresh fish are to die for. Lima is a gorgeous city anyway, and should definitely be on the list of any food lovers.
Second Option: Mexico City
Adventure Seeker – Queenstown
The only downside, is that you’ll need to manually close your jaw after taking in the sights. Whatever level of adventure seeker you are – from sky diving, bungee jumping, paragliding or just hiking, kayaking and cycling – Queenstown has it all. The people are nice, the food is great, accommodations are reasonable – it’s a must for any South Pacific trip.
Second Option: Sedona, Arizona
Shopper – Melbourne
Melbourne is an incredible city with some of the best food and coffee around, but the splendid shopping might just be the thing to bring it front and center on your radar. Hip neighborhoods like St. Kilda and huge street markets downtown offer just about everything for a perfect shopping trip. Let’s hope you’ve got a full wallet and an empty extra suitcase! Oh, and there’s great wine!
Second Idea: Tokyo, Japan
Nightlife – New Orleans
If you’re looking for a holiday full of late nights, a buzzing bar scene and a place to simply let your hair down where that’s totally ok, then New Orleans has got you covered. Spend your days taking in the cities unique cuisine and quirky culture, and nights drinking and socializing to your hearts content. Many of the worlds best bartenders are moving to New Orleans. Will you?
Second Idea: Berlin, Germany
All-Inclusive – Cancun
For relax, eat and drink to the max, an all inclusive resort is the right way to go. There’s no place on earth where the go big, get a tan and go home motto is more en force than Cancun. Modern, new all inclusive resorts line the sandy beaches and infinity pool laden city, and the deals are about as good as it gets for that sort of thing.
Second Idea: Goa, India
Culture – Rome
It’s popular for a reason. There’s just so much to see. Walking around this beautiful city you will be awe struck, admiring the endless classical ruins and masterpieces that surround you. We recommend hiring a guide to help skip lines and learn as much as possible in a short amount of time. And if you can, try to avoid visits during the summer holiday. It’s too manic.
Second Idea: Kyoto, Japan
Wildlife – Botswana
Perhaps it’s the pictures, but safaris often make for the most memorable holidays. And when it comes to safari locations, Botswana is one of the best. Safaris in this stable, enchanting African country often feature lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, wild dogs and stunningly beautiful camp sites. Just bring an extra memory card.
Second Idea: Al Hajar Mountains, Oman
Art – Abu Dhabi
It may not be your first thought when thinking of the worlds most famous art galleries, but with the additions of The Louvre, The Guggenheim, and Etihad Modern Art Gallery – it should be. Abu Dhabi offers desert excursions, refined luxury hotels and pools galore, to go along with more art per capita than almost any other city. And the architecture – just wow.
Second Idea: Vienna, Austria
Cheap and Cheerful – Sofia
This trip will combine two great things: fun and ease on the purse strings. There’s lots to explore in Bulgaria, but the city of Sofia should be your fist spot. The city is ripe with fascinating history, beautiful landscapes and intriguing local baltic cuisine and for now, under the radar. Whether it’s nearby beaches, skiing or Bulgarian wine you’re looking for (it’s actually really good), this is a worthy destination all year round.
Second Idea: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
