And they already have a butterfly garden…

Singapore Changi Airport is already the best airport in the world – winning the title an impressive six years running. It’s already got one of the best airport hotels, an outdoor butterfly garden, cactus garden, movie theatre, excellent transport network, shops and restaurants people actually enjoy and other things that make it feel more like a posh mall than a passenger moving place, but like all true greats, the airport is still not satisfied. In an effort to bid for a crowd silencing seventh best airport in the world title, Singapore Changi will soon offer “The Jewel”, with the world’s largest indoor waterfall…

Set to open in 2019, The Jewel is an inspiring building that will connect all three terminals at Changi Airport, using the iconic tower as backdrop. With an endless list of entertainment and wowing features for both adults and kids, it will be a destination in itself – so much so, you may literally never want to leave the airport, even though you absolutely should.

We could bore you with a long list of all the incredible things going on in The Jewel, but we’ll just hit you with a few highlights instead. For starters, there will be the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, at a whopping 40 meters, complete of course with both a light and sound show. There will also be a hedge maze, sky nets, slides, walking trails, gardens – and we haven’t even mentioned all the wonderful shops, dining options and hotel. Check out the full list here.

Airport Stay

YotelAir will be opening in The Jewel, with options to book rooms at an hourly rate or for an overnight stay. If you just need a quick nap, shower or a little peace and quiet before moving onto your next destination this is the perfect option without having to put a foot outside, no matter which terminal you’re flying from. But know this: it’s already got stiff competition. Aside from Changi Airport winning world’s best airport, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is also the world’s best airport hotel, many years running as well!

Singapore is already a fantastic city with so many cool things to see and do, but with this new and exciting project, there’s even more reason to visit. There will be options for early check in, baggage services and lounges in The Jewel, making sure you get full enjoyment out of all they have to offer, without the hassle. If you’re going to need a layover city or transfer point in Asia, there’s really no competition – yet…

Will you check out the Jewel when it opens?
