If you’re just a little bit taller, or a little bit baller, first class is that icing on top. The bed is bigger, the champagne more exclusive and the meals are bit more sophisticated too. British Airways just dropped a flash sale on First Class to America, and with dates well into 2021, it should be open, and BA’s in flight experience should be back up to scratch too.
Oh, and Boston and Miami are also available for just around £100-200 more, as is San Francisco, where the extra space can really pay off on a long flight
British Airways First Class Deals
British Airways and partner American Airlines are out with super limited time deals on their flagship first class cabins, starting at just £1500 round trip, for direct flights. For British Airways, this should mean a chance to try the “new” First Class Suite on the JFK route, which was just delivered onto select Boeing 777’s.
Here’s a review of British Airways (not new) 777 First Class, and American Airlines 777 First Class.
The “new” BA first suite is currently operating the 1400 BA 115 flight out of LHR, and the 2025 BA176 out of JFK. The schedule indicates things will stay that way, but there’s not much way to guarantee anything in travel this far out.
Flying first class would gain access to the Concorde Terrace at Heathrow, assuming the Concorde Room hasn’t yet reopened in 2021, and also Flagship First at JFK, assuming that reopens as well.
Can you even travel to New York?
Currently, UK and European visitors traveling on ESTA’s are mostly banned from visiting the USA, but that’s not expected to last beyond January. Pre-flight testing and travel corridors are being discussed between the two cities, with plans possible as soon as December.
It’s always a bit of a gamble right now, but you would be able to retain a voucher for the full amount if you cancel, and if British Airways cancels your flight you’re eligible for a full refund.
The Dates You Can Travel
These first class flight deals are widely available in 2021 from late February through to end of schedule, around September.
The best bargains are for mid week departures with the lowest prices on Tuesday and Wednesday, but excellent deals also available on Monday and Thursday too. In a nice twist, a Saturday night stay is the only requirement, so a Wednesday to Sunday long weekend trip would work just fine. of course, longer trips are ok too.
How To Book These Flight Deals
That part is easy, thankfully. British Airways has these prices directly on their website, with the option to book onto American or BA operated flights. Given British Airways current flexible booking policy, it’s best to book direct at the moment. Here’s examples directly on British Airways, where you can simply change dates and book.
Book: £1595 British Airways First Class London to New York
Book: £1800 British Airways First Class London to San Francisco
Don’t forget, making these a flight + hotel or car rental booking allow you to pay a low deposit now, and pay the rest without interest over time, and can often save on price. You can also use Avios to reduce the cash price, while still earning full tier points and Avios.
BA are back in T7 at JFK
Booked when they had similar prices last month. Couldn’t find a sale First fare back MSY Club only either direct or via DFW/ORD. Any ideas or are there no sale fares, filled?
Thanks as always
How long are BA running the deal for? Looking for deals for travel in Oct/Nov 2021 so seats aren’t released for a good few weeks yet.
“…the meals are bit more sophisticated too.”
– hard not to be more sophisticated than a cheap cold sandwich in a box/ bag as currently delivered in BA’s business class
