Sorry, no crazy hacks, tricks or deals here, but perhaps something equally valuable: binge worthy television for those never ending flights. We’re not proclaimed television critics, but as people constantly on planes and in need of light hearted laughter or gripping drama, we hold our television standards pretty high. As such, we’ve put together a list of a few TV shows which we’d deem completely binge worthy…
The Night Manager
Starring: Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie.
The Pitch: Truly gripping drama with international intrigue, incredible acting and even better writing. Thrill a moment tv in the form of six-one hour episodes. One of the best we’ve ever seen.
Available On: Amazon Prime (free), iTunes, GooglePlay.
Narcos
Starring: Wagner Moura, Boyd Holbrook
The Pitch: An epic-intense depiction of life as a narcotics detective in Colombia during the reign of Pablo Escobar and the Cali Cartels. Truly outstanding performance by Wagner Moura portraying Pablo. Top notch production value, plenty of drama and action, as expected.
Available On: Netflix.
Line Of Duty
Starring: Martin Compston, Vicky McClure
The Pitch: Inside a police internal affairs team who is kept very, very busy. Edge of the seat drama and intrigue, great direction. Four seasons of roughly six-one hour episodes. This one will keep you awake…
Available On: Netflix (UK), Google Play, Amazon Prime, iTunes.
30 Rock
Starring: Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin.
The Pitch: Light, easy watching, which you can pick up on any episode. Incredibly witty comedy- centered around the behind the scenes of making a television show. You’ll learn every New York inside joke in the book, and it’s hard not to love the lovable idiots which form most of the characters.
Available On: Netflix, Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Prime.
BReaking BAd
Starring: BRyan Cranston, AAron Paul (caps are for fans of the show, who will get reference).
The Pitch: When life hands a chemistry teacher cancer, he decides that cooking meth might just be the best way to pay for treatment. Naturally, it’s a bit more complicated than just opening up shop…
Available On: Netflix, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Prime.
Game Of Thrones
Starring: Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington
The Pitch: So much sex, so much violence. Even if sci-fi and period pieces aren’t your thing, this one will reel you in. Perhaps the most over the top, twist, turn and surprise show out there. Spoiler alert: don’t fall in love with many characters…
Available On: HBO, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Prime.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Starring: Larry David, Jeff Garlin
The Pitch: Brilliant writing, easy watching, crass-on point humor. The creator of Seinfeld playing the creator of Seinfeld, coping with life as an overly analytical, frustratingly logical person of means. If you loved Seinfeld, you’ll love Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Planet Earth II
Starring: Incredible Animals, David Attenborough
The Pitch: Far and away the best nature documentary every produced, with camera angles that you simply cannot believe are real-until you see the behind the scenes and all the work that goes into it. Amazing stories on animal life in deserts, jungles, oceans, cities and remote places.
Available On: iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Prime.
Peep Show
Starring: David Mitchell, Robert Webb
The Pitch: One do everything right, one do everything wrong- roommate duo. Hilarious, easy watching comedy with witty banter, social musings and an overall taste for the dysfunctional. It gets better with each season. If you enjoy, you’ll also love The Inbetweeners.
Available On: Netflix (UK), iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play.
House Of Cards
Starring: Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright
The Pitch: Everything we’ve ever thought about dirty politicians plays out in a thicker than thick political thriller. There’s murder, deceit, betrayal and of course, some governance in between. Again, incredible production value, top notch acting and enough to keep you awake. A thriller for sure.
Available On: Netflix (UK), iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play.
Thanks for sharing these.
I have to admit I love Seinfeld but when I have watched Curb your Enthusiasm in the past I did not enjoy it.
