With no luggage to hold you back…

Ever been on a long layover with ample time to enjoy a new, fun city, only to find the thought of lugging your bags around just a bit too daunting? Or maybe you just checked out of your Airbnb with hours to waste before heading to the airport, and found yourself immobilized by the extra load? Or maybe – just maybe, for those with a weakness for shopping, you just want to ditch your shopping bags for dinner and drinks? There are endless reasons as to the “why” part of temporarily parting ways with the burden of your baggage, and thankfully, there’s now an app for that. Meet, StoreMe, the new travel app.

StoreMe is a mobile app that can be downloaded for free and used on both Android and iPhone devices. The handy new service is already available in major cities such as New York, Boston, Washington DC and Philadelphia, with a rapidly growing list of destinations being added. Plans for international conquest are also on the forefront. The app connects you with verified nearby locations, such as cafes, gyms and shops, that will store your luggage at an hourly rate, allowing you to roam freely throughout the city, without a heavy load weighing you down.

How It Works

First, you enter your location or destination into the app. Next, the size and number of bags you want to leave; and how long you want to ditch them for. The app will offer nearby locations, which you can then reserve immediately for drop off. Au revoir, heavy bags. The service offers an hourly rate of $2-3 depending on the size of your luggage, as well as flat daily rates, if you need to leave your luggage for longer. You’ll then be prompted to quickly photograph your bags, to help make them easily identifiable by staff. As part of the service, each item is insured and every location must pass a stringent vetting process, with cameras installed to assure your belongings will be kept safe. Phew…

At the end of the day, it’s the simple convenience of this travel app concept that makes it so useful. From a quick morning jog before you head off to hours to kill with places to see, easy, affordable access to luggage storage, wherever you go is invaluable. With more destinations coming soon, StoreMe is an exciting new frontier for shoppers, travelers and anyone with excess baggage. No, not that kind of baggage.

Will you give this new travel app a whirl?

  1. I love this idea. While traveling through Boston en route to Dublin a couple of years ago, we wandered all over trying to find a place to hold our bags so we could explore the city until we departed that evening. Finally, we found a newspaper stand at the train station that would hold them for us. I’m downloading this app right now!

  2. Great idea, although the utility is certainly limited. For people staying at an Airbnb it’s potentially really helpful.

  3. This is great but probably worth also checking that your travel insurance covers you using these services. You wouldn’t want to find out in a bad situation that they have deemed that you left your luggage unattended.

  4. Hello, every time i used to check website posts here in the early hours in the daylight, since i love to
gain knowledge of more and more.
