There are incredibly interesting and lucrative opportunities out there to earn perks now, which will undoubtedly make travel better as the world rebounds. At least for you! This may be among the most lucrative.

There’s an opportunity to earn one of the greatest hotel elite statuses out there, in just 7 nights of actual hotel stays, even if those 7 are done using points! The major catch? You need a World Of Hyatt Card. Even then, you needed to sign up during a specific period.

It’s not for everyone, but its definitely worth mentioning, since we recommended snagging the card during the special double nights promo.

Hyatt Globalist Opportunity

According to MtM, Hyatt is allowing eligible members to stack two amazing bonuses together, to make earning top tier status feel like a breeze.

The opportunity is available for anyone who received the World Of Hyatt Card during the ‘double nights until the end of the year’ offer, which was valid for sign ups made by September 30th. Basically, if you got the card this year, that should be you.

The offer means that all nights you stay until the end of the year count twice. That’s amazing, because qualification measures have been cut in half. This year, Hyatt’s top tier Globalist requires a mere 30 nights. If all nights count as two, that means 15 nights.

Going a step further, you get 5 nights automatically for holding the card. If you spend $15,000 on the card before the end of the year, you get another 6, giving you 11 total. That leave just 19 nights to complete.

That’s where things take a new level — with an Andaz promotion. You get an extra night for every Andaz stay through the 23rd of December, meaning 7 nights would count for 21, 5 for 15 and so forth.

In the simplest terms…

If you got the World of Hyatt Card from Chase before September 30th, you’re starting with 5 nights toward the 30 needed for top tier elite status. You need 25 more and you earn double nights on all stays.

For clarity, that 25 is really 13, and if you stay at the Andaz brand, you get an additional extra bonus night per actual night stayed, so that 25 needed is really 9 actual nights.

Again, spending $15 will help with another 6 towards the 30 (putting you at 11 total) without any stays, but If you won’t spend $15K to earn 6 more nights via spend, you’ll need to figure out the actual nights.

Points stays count towards these totals, so it’s possible to reach top tier just by using points. Anyone with 10+ nights in hotels before the end of the year could easily make this work, and as travel rebounds, top tier status with very generous suite upgrades and guarantees on late checkout are really valuable.

Play It Well!

If you’re one of the smart readers who took our advice to pick up the card during the double nights bonus days, this is game time to take a great card and make it work even harder for you. Top tier status is what it is!

Andaz is easily one of my two favorite Hyatt brands, with great hotels in cities I find myself in the most frequently. Requiring just 7 nights in one, if you’re hitting spending metrics, or 9 nights if you’re not, is an amazingly lucrative way to hit top tier status with a fraction of the (already fractional) requirements.

This status will last until at least February 2023, which could make travels in 2022 very bright! Personally, I wouldn’t go from zero planned nights to 7 planned nights to make this status dream a reality, but if you have travel planned and can easily opt to choose an Andaz over another brand, or chain, it makes a lot of sense.

    1. As noted in the post…. the promotion by itself is 2X. If you got the World of Hyatt Card during the 2X nights offer, you’d get 3X. This has been verified by Hyatt. Not sure what you’re referring to..

  1. How long has it beed taking for the 2X bonus to post?
Also, for the timing of qualifying for Globalist – will the 2X bonus nights count toward status as of the date of the stay or based on when they post? I have a stay Dec 24-29 this year and would like the 2X nights to count toward 2021, not 2022. Thanks!
