The New York-Milan route is one of the most highly contentious trails in the sky, and you can fly non-stop on Alitalia, American Airlines, Delta or Emirates. Because of this robust competition, there are exciting fare deals more often than not. This time, it’s Emirates’ turn, with special fares as low as $799 for two, just for Valentine’s Day. That’s right – round trip. Hey, they can use any reason to run a fare deal for all we care!
The experience with Emirates on an A380 to Milan is easily one of the best you’ll find in the skies. The airline has really done a great job maximizing seat space, with the addition of an extra large IFE screen and great selection of things to watch. Plus, crews are generally really friendly and always happy to help — or provide a refill!
But the most important thing: we’re talking about Milan on a budget, without the budget airline experience.
The Deal
To take advantage of the Valentine’s Day deal, Emirates does require one thing – you must book for two people. So grab your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, travel buddy or whoever so you can book both of you for only $799 from New York to Milan. That’s just under $400 per person — except you won’t be on a low-cost carrier.
Just think of the great food you could be eating in Milan. No, it’s not the pasta you’ll find further south in Italy, but Milan has some amazing cuisine of its own including my favorite local dish, Cotoletta alla milanese. If you’re curious it’s a breaded veal cutlet that’s fried. It’s amazing. You’ll see.
If business class is more your speed, you’re looking at $6,599 all in for two people (just under $3,300 per person) for a lie-flat seat, direct aisle access and possibly the best in-flight bar on the planet.
You can also jet off to Athens for $999 for two (just under $500 per person) on an Emirates 777 out of Newark.
The Dates
To take advantage of the Emirates Valentine’s Day deal, you must book your flights by February 17, 2019. You must travel between February 21 and April 14, 2019 or between August 20 and December 5, 2019.

You’ll need to book directly with Emirates to get these special fares as they have not released these fares to third parties. Fortunately, it’s easy enough to search for dates with Emirates if you visit their dedicated Valentine’s Day deal page.
