Welcome to our new hourly post series, where we will ask you for money at least once an hour, every day – for eternity. Totally kidding. This is exactly what you may have expected it to be. It’s a once annual appeal for donations and for some of you, an offer of a valuable service. We’re not a charity – but we have a few reasons we think it could be worth a few of your hard earned bucks to support this site.
No Hard Sell
Much of the praise we receive often involves the hard sell, or rather – the lack there of. We do not make money from selling credit cards. We also don’t have any strange agreements with weird travel brands which force us to hard sell products or services which are sketchy at best. If you prefer this to any other style of content, consider throwing a few bucks our way. This soften the blow we feel from not wearing shiny gold jewelry to distract you while we sell you clunky used cars. You can donate here.
Independence Isn’t Free
If you do enjoy this site – it’s probably because the creator and editor is even more stubborn than you are. We regularly turn down lucrative offers to pump out watered down information. Staying truly independent involves financial loss. Yes – we’d make a lot more money if we sold you used travel cars. You may see Instagram pictures of us living “the high life” but it’s all done by using points, deals and loyalty programs to our advantage. It doesn’t mean this site is a multi million dollar enterprise – yet. We think staying on point and truthful is totally worth it, we wouldn’t like it any other way – but you’re generosity makes independent and unbiased content so much easier to deliver. We realize you have choices every day. We believe we’re one of the best, but know you have options. There are no hard feelings if you don’t feel compelled to chip in.
