British Airways First Class has received significant soft touch upgrades over the last year, and it’s always been an incredibly comfortable way to travel. There’s no on board showers, or bars, but for a 7 hour flight between New York and London, Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle and a 6’9” bed should do just fine.
While the UK and Europe gets almost all the “good” deals in premium cabins, there’s a flash sale on British Airways First Class from New York, which for $2495 is a heck of a bargain. Particularly if you use Avios or a discount code to bring the price down further…
The Flight Deals To London
Dublin is charming any time of year, and whenever you have plans to go, these flight deals are a fantastic way to get there in first class, for less than what most people will pay for business class. These deals from New York to Dublin offer first class on both transatlantic legs, which means access to the Concorde Room at Heathrow, as well as the first class wing.
The nose of the 747 only has a few more prime years in the air, so if you’ve never done first class in the nose, this is a pretty neat opportunity to do so, at prices most people would be thrilled with for business class.
The Dates You Can Travel
These offers are around at the end of December, even during peak pre-Christmas travel, and then regularly available throughout all of 2020. You’ll find these fares easily by searching for New York departures on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but the months of April and September offer even wider departure days.
To lock in the lowest price, you’ll need to stay at least one week – aka leave on Tuesday, return on a Tuesday – but longer stays are completely fine as well. That’s not a ridiculous requirement by any means…
How To Book These Deals
These sort of things don’t last more than a few days, so if you want first class, get it fast. All flights from the USA more than 7 days away offer 24 hour cancellation for a full refund. Price show up at $2697 if you search on British Airways, but if you join AARP, you can instantly take $200 off for a grand total of $16.
Once you’ve joined AARP (there’s no age requirement), you login to your AARP account, select “member benefits”, scroll down to “travel benefits”, click “British Airways” and then click over to the BA website. Your $200 discount will apply automatically, and you’ll see fares in the $2400’s. If you have Avios, you can then reduce the price even further by using Avios for partial payment.
