Spontaneous Escapes Details
To take advantage of this month’s Spontaneous Escapes, you need to book by October 31st, 2019 and travel between November 1st and November 30, 2019. Now you know why they call these deals spontaneous. The ticket must be issued by October 31st or you won’t get the promo mileage rate, which saves around 30,000 miles each way for a long haul flight.
As you might expect, these deals are on a first-come, first-serve basis so don’t expect them to last through October t 31. Also, make sure you check the Spontaneous Escapes page for eligible flights as not all flights on a given route are eligible for the promo rate.
Our Favourite Deals This Month
While all these deals have a set 30% discount this month, there are a few that are of particular interest, either do to being super long flights, or ones that would be prohibitively expensive using cash. There a great business class option from Singapore to Europe, Australia and the USA, as well as flights to Japan and South Korea, amongst many others.
Not only are these great award rates but you won’t have to pay any major surcharges on these tickets either, just the standard taxes/fees.
Make sure you check the promo page details as some routes are restricted to specific flights.
Singapore To Australia Or New Zealand
Whether you’re looking for a flight from Singapore to Australia/New Zealand or vice versa, you have a few options during this month’s promo. You can fly business class to/from Brisbane (BNE), Canberra (CBR), Adelaide (ADL), Sydney (SYD) or Melbourne (MEL) for only 43,400 KrisFlyer miles instead of the usual 62,000 miles.
Flights Within Asia, Even Tokyo
If you already have flights booked to Asia or are piecing together an extended trip through the region, there are lots of intra-Asia promo flights. The onex that stands out to us are between Singapore and Tokyo, Fukuoka or Seoul. The flight time on this one is listed at about 6.5 hours and you can book business class for 32,900 KrisFlyer miles one-way. Two of the eligible flights in each direction are on the beautiful new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner.
This flight would usually require 47,000 KrisFlyer miles and, when you think about it, it’s not much shorter than a New York-London flight. At 32,900 KrisFlyer miles, it really is a steal to fly one of the world’s best airlines in business class. If you’d prefer an economy flight, you can use 17,500 miles to fly to South Korea and Japan rather than the usual 25,000 miles.
There’s more too! Bangalore, Chennai and Dhaka are all also included with business class at 27,300 miles each way.
San Francisco To Singapore Or Hong Kong And Vice Versa
If you’d like to visit Singapore, or perhaps stop through Singapore to pair this deal with another option on the monthly promos, you can book a one-way business class award ticket to Singapore for 64,400 miles instead of the usual 95,000 and up!. That’s a 30% discount off the usual mileage rate, with easy miles to earn.
This allows you to fly from Singapore or Hong Kong to San Francisco, or from San Francisco to either. With flight times over 14 hours, this is a game changing way to travel.
You can also book premium economy for 25,900 miles on this same flight and with the same blackout date restrictions.
Premium Economy Deals For USA And Europe
Singapore Airlines has loaded tons of premium economy availability to the USA and Europe, which is a great way to travel in relative comfort without breaking the mileage bank or tapping into the savings bank either. You can fly one way between Singapore and the following cities, in either direction for just 45,150 miles…
- London
- Paris
- Frankfurt
- Milan
And if you want to save even more miles, you can take the short hop between Frankfurt and New York for just 32,900 miles each way in Premium Economy.
How To Search And Book
Singapore Airlines recently added a flexible search option which we think will make your search easier. When you do so, you’ll get a snapshot of what is available across seven days.
Pick a Saver date and you should be able to find a flight eligible for the promo. Just make sure you select Redeem Flights before you run your search so you don’t accidentally look for cash fares.
Final Thoughts
With miles so easy to earn in the U.S., there’s really no reason you can’t earn plenty of Singapore KrisFlyer miles. The key, as always, is to use as few as possible when booking award flights and Spontaneous Escapes helps you do just that.
This month, I’m really liking the deals to/from Australia and New Zealand. This promo could be a great way to hop down to either country or perhaps visit Southeast Asia on your way home from Australia/New Zealand.
Brisbane (BNE), Canberra (CBR), Adelaide (ADL), Sydney (SYD) or Melbourne (MEL) aren’t in NZ.. Yes it’s on the way..
