Alila Jabal Akhdar, Oman
This luxury boutique hotel has been hot on everyone’s minds recently, and rightly so. Sitting atop the Al Hajar mountains, the views are just outrageous. If you’re looking for pure relaxation with spa treatments, outdoor yoga or a little rock climbing adventure, it has it all. If you just want to chill in an infinity pool with a mesmerizing view, you can do that too. The pool is about 2000 meters above sea level, by the way. The eco luxury design of the hotel mixes perfectly with the striking landscapes for some extremely impressive photos, just in case you want to brag a little bit.

There’s a flood of excellent restaurants, there are spectacular views of Singapore, there are boutiques and after you’ve indulged to the max, you’re right next to Gardens by the Bay. for a spectacular light show. Having a Singapore Sling in this rooftop pool may be one of the most memorable things you’ll do this year.

Boucan by Hotel Chocolat, St Lucia
Ok ok- we broke the $300 barrier, but occasionally this hotel does too, via secret sales. This boutique hotel and real life cocoa plantation sit 1000 feet above the Caribbean Sea blending luxury with nature. If you’re a chocolate fan, consider this Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The stunning setting, the accommodations are refined, the food is wonderful food and if this isn’t seriously high on your list of places to go – you just might be crazy.

I’ve stayed at MBS 3 times. Never found a rate anywhere close to $300. It’s usually about $595-700 SGD
@Hal: I just picked a random day in September: got a rate of $399 SGD, which is $301. It’s possible.
While it’s true that you can get MBS for around $300… it’s a pretty shitty experience. A true mega hotel, the only redeeming feature is the pool, but that’s hardly a relaxing experience.
